Flame (Where did your Soul Go?)

Reflected through eyes, but
mindless killed her
soul,
Distant, dead, walking zombie
in unnatural attire,
Hole, searching, deathless,
far away from that
fire,

Empty, broken, disquiet
yearning,
Though the body and face
are there, unfamiliar glowing,
stomach churning,
Burning bitter, embattled,
Reaching for that
soul,

Grasping once again to be
whole with pieces,
Seeking the dead, but hard
when the face is corrupt,
Creases, beauty faded, lost
in familiarity of what
once was,

Not dead, but dead, in
night the dread that darkness
plays the puppeteer,
Fearing that decay that became
her, yearning to hold
her near,
But heartless is the beast that
wears her,
Disrupting, corrupting what
once was clear...
