Away and heavy, head hung
low,
Arms lay empty, but not in
the heart,
Though back to the snow, yet
never to part.
Not thinking of the wind and
sea spray,
The clouds, the rain to wash that
yearning away,
Days feel like weeks, and months
dragged away,
Planning a way back, but it can't
be today.
Yearning for soft embrace, in that
moment, in that
place,
Instantly gone, missing that face,
Gone in a blink, too fast a pace.
