Close to Home.

Never stop, never back
down,
Never surrender, though
I might drown,

Day to day, month to
month, year to
year,
Forget the horizon,
one foot, then the other,
the distance unclear,
Still here,

Steady in the wake of
pain,
Press on to HOME
again,
No place, but a face
and a name,

No shame in committing,
Never remitting,
Moving on? No. Moving
forward,
Onward, back toward
that same face,
That familiar place,

No more to roam,
yearning for HOME,
Her familiar touch,
That smile, those eyes,
They are HOME...
